Dianne incorporates the knowledge from her practice and teaching of yoga, and her study of Alexander Technique and other somatic disciplines, with her medical knowledge, and has developed a series of Experiential Anatomy Workshops for Yoga Practitioners which she offers nationally. She applies her somatic work with clients to increase their kinesthetic awareness and improve the accuracy of their perception of the structure and function of their bodies, which can then effectively address and relieve symptoms and facilitate healing of various medical conditions such as fibromyalgia, back or knee pain, arthritis, diabetes, carpal tunnel syndrome, depression, anxiety, and cancer.

Lauren Morimoto is a fat woman who teaches physical education activity courses such as t'ai chi ch'uan, advanced social dance, yoga, movement and self-awareness, self-defense, and flag football at The Ohio State University. She is a doctoral candidate in cultural Studies in Education with an emphasis in Somatics which seeks to explore and foster mind-body integration in a variety of fields including physical education, medicine, health promotion and education. During the past 7 years, Lauren has made presentations in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, on body image, obesity and health, community relations, t'ai chi ch'uan, and women's health.
